“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatains 6:2

Willow Chicago serves its neighbors by hosting or participating in a variety of anti-poverty ministries in the South Loop.

Join Willow Chicago as we live out our fourth Audacious Prayer: that the neighborhood of Bronzeville would experience economic growth, an improvement in eduction, and a reduction in violent crime. Bronzeville is our closest neighbor to the south and a hub of African American art and culture in Chicago.

If you have a passion for learning about Bronzeville and becoming involved, email Michael Goggins, Compassion & Justice Director at

John B. Drake Elementary School is a partner organization of Willow Chicago. Our church has a passion for seeing an improvement in education in Bronzeville, and Drake has identified a tangible way for us to support.

Currently, only 30% of the students at Drake are performing at grade level. That percentage is even lower when you look at the fourth and fifth grade students. Drake has asked Willow Chicago to mentor a select number of fourth and fifth graders for the 2019/2020 school year. Our desire is to develop meaningful one on one relationships with these students that will hopefully yield results for many years.

We need 15 or more dedicated mentors to assist students with their math and reading skills every Tuesday from 4-5:30 p.m onsite at Drake Elementary, starting Tuesday, October 1.

A solid education is the key to unlocking doors to future opportunities. Don't miss this chance to participate!
